18.05.2015: Protest outside Chinese consulate in Zürich
Over 200 Tibetans and Swiss held a peaceful protest outside the Chinese consulate in Zürich responding to a special call from the Central Tibetan Administration for a immediate release of Penchen Lama, who was kidnapped as a child, by Chinese govt. 20 years ago.
The protest was organized by the Tibetan Community in Switzerland & Liechtenstein (TCSL). It was opened with a rendition of Tibetan National Anthem followed by speech from the President of TCSL Mr. Tenzin Nyingbu. Also the President of Tibetan women association in Switzerland, the President of Europe Tibetan Youth Congress, the President of young Tibetan Generation association and representative of Swiss-Tibet friendship association has also delivered a speech.
The vice-president of TCSL, Mr. Lhaning Pema Tsering read the petition letter to the crowd, which was thereafter dropped into the post box of Chinese consulate.
The protest was concluded with peaceful slogan shouting demanding immediate release of all political prisoners in Tibet and later with prayers under the lead of Khen Rinpoche and monks from the Rikon Monastery.
