Peace march in the city of Zurich

Responding to the critical situation inside Tibet and also in solidarity with the brave Martyrs who sacrificed their precious lives for the cause of six million Tibetans, the Tibetan Community of Switzerland and Liechtenstein (TCSL), on the 28th of June, organized peace march in the city of Zurich.

Around 250 Tibetans and supporters had responded to the call and had gathered at Burkliplatz, Zurich at 18. oclock. Representatives of various NGOs delivered speech to the crowd.

Later, the crowd marched towards the Chinese consulate shouting slogans such as return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Tibet, Free Press, release of the political prisoners in Tibet.    

Infront of the consulate, the crowd demonstrated peaceful protest followed by prayers under the lead of monks from the Rikon Monastery. The president of TCSL, Mr. Lobsang read the petition to the crowd, which was then dropped into Chinese consulate letter box. The peace march was concluded with the Tibetan National Anthem led by the Folklore group of TCSL and word of thanks from the President.
