Kashag Re-appoints Envoys and Representatives of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Secretaries

DHARAMSHALA: The Kashag has announced the re-appointment of the incumbent special envoy, envoy and representatives of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and secretaries of the departments, as their terms naturally ended with the ratification of the amendment to the charter by His Holiness the Dalai Lama on 29 May.

With the complete devolution of His Holiness the Dalai Lama's formal authority to the elected leadership, the constitutional authority to appoint these officials earlier vested with His Holiness is now delegated to the Kashag.

The Kashag has re-appointed the secretaries of the seven departments of the Central Tibetan Administration.

Meanwhile, the Kashag announced that the Special Envoy Kasur Lodi Gyari, Envoy Kelsang Gyaltsen and Representatives of His Holiness the Dalai Lama will hold their posts until further notice. They will remain as His Holiness the Dalai Lama's Representatives, Special Envoy and Envoy in accordance with the provision enshrined in Article 1 (3) of the Charter.

2) Mr Ngawang Choedak Choetri Tengpa (Secretary, Department of Religion and Culture)

3) Mr Ngodup Dorjee Sogtoe (Secretary, Department of Home)

4) Ven Karma Gelek Yuthok (Secretary, Department of Education)

5) Mr Ngodup Dorjee Shingchen (Secretary, Department of Security)

6) Mr Thubten Samphel (Secretary, Information, Department of Information and International Relations)

7) Mr Tenzin Phuntsok Atisha (Secretary for International Relations, Department of Information and International Relations)

8) Mr Wangchuk Phasur (Secretary, Department of Health)
