Prayer service for the late Jigme Norbu

The Tibetan Community in Switzerland and Liechtenstein organized on 13th March 2011 in Tibet Institute Rikon a prayer service for the late Jigme Norbu, son of Taktser Rinpoche, brother of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, who died in 2008.
The prayer service was led by the abbot, Geshe Thupten Legmen, and the monastic community of the Tibet Institute Rikon. More than 200 people attended the ceremony.
The participants also payed tribute to those brave men and women who sacrificed their lives for the just cause of Tibet and prayed for the earthquake victims in Japan.
According to the organization Ambassadors for World Peace Jigme Norbu, nephew of the Dalai Lama, wanted to demonstrate during a 480-kilometer march from St. Augustine to southern Palm Beach for world peace, human rights and Independence for Tibet from China. Jigme Norbu was killed on Monday evening in Palm Coast, Florida, USA, after being struck by a car. Jigme Norbu, 45 years old, is survived by his wife and 3 children.
