Section Rüti of the Tibetan Community in Switzerland & Liechtenstein (TCSL) celebrates His Holiness the Dalai Lamas 85th Birthday
The section Rüti of the Tibetan Community in Switzerland & Liechtenstein (TCSL)
organized on Sunday, July 12th 2020, a religious ceremony at Rikon Tibetan monastery to
celebrate the 85th Birthday of His Holiness the Great 14th Dalai Lama.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama previously advised the Buddhist community, “If you want to
celebrate my birthday, I would like to ask you to recite the Mani Mantra at least a
thousand times”.
In the prayer hall of the Tibet Institute Rikon, the Long Live Prayer and Mani Mantra for His Holiness the Dalai Lama was recited, which was led by the abbot and the monastic community. During the prayer session, the traditional Tibetan Butter tea and sweet rice (Dre-si) were served followed by birthday cake cutting.
Later members of Rüti section offered incense burning (Sang-Sol) led by the monastic Community outside the monastery.
After lunch the traditional religious ceremony was concluded with a traditional Tibetan circle dance (Gorshey).
