Tibetan Community of Switzerland &Liechtenstein presented a gold coated Statue as Gratitude to His Holiness the Dalai Lama
Tibetan Community of Switzerland and Liechtenstein presented to His Holiness the Dalai Lama a gold-coated statue depicting the great 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet as gratitude.
As Central Tibetan Administration ( CTA)dedicated the year from 1st July 2020 to 30th June 2021 as “Year of Gratitude to His Holiness the Dalai Lama” a celebration of the 85 glorious years that His Holiness the Dalai Lama has spent and continues to devote to the wellbeing of all sentient beings.
On 24th November 2020, 17th Executive member of Tibetan Community of Switzerland &Liechtenstein decided to present a statue as a gratitude to His Holiness the Dalai Lama in appreciation of His Holiness the Dalai Lama`s outstanding contributions not only for the Tibetan people but also for whole sentient beings.
For the Tibetan people, His Holiness the Dalai Lama is the manifestation of Chenrezig, the heart and soul of Tibet. While we may continue to dedicate prayers for his long life, it is also important that as followers, we inculcate his teachings and constant advice in our day to days lives. As believed in the Tibetan tradition, this may strengthen the collective merit and contribute to advancing his life and wellbeing.”
“The Dalai Lama had developed his philosophy for peace from a great reverence for all things living and upon the concept of universal responsibility, embracing all mankind as well as nature. His Holiness the Dalai Lama has come forward with constructive and forward looking proposals for the solution of international conflicts, human rights issues and global environment problems.”
On 6th July 2021 on the occasion of His Holiness the Dalai Lama`s 86th Birthday celebration, the statue was presented to express profound gratitude to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, protector of the Land of Snow for his far-sighted guidance to Tibetans, and for his message and untiring work for the promotion of universal responsibility, peace and compassion for the benefit of the entire humanity
Referring to the four principal commitments of His Holiness the Dalai Lama: promotion of human values, encouraging religious harmony, preserving Tibetan language and culture, and reviving ancient Indian knowledge based on Nalanda tradition, the community presented the gratitude statue with “His Holiness the great 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet: Pre-eminent Nalanda’s scholar of the 21st century” inscribed on the throne.
The community presented the statue with fervent devotion and prayers for His Holiness the Dalai Lama to live for hundreds of eons and for his aspirations to be fulfilled without any hindrance.
