Tibetans in Switzerland&Liechtenstein march to the UN on International Human Rights Day

Geneva: Saturday,10th December 2022: To commemorate the 74th anniversary of the United Nations declaration of Human Rights Day, Tibetans in Switzerland & Liechtenstein gathered in front of the United Nations building in Geneva to highlight the dismal human rights situation in China-occupied Tibet.
Numerous  Tibetan of all ages participated in the march holding Tibetan National flags and placards, calling attention to the dismal human rights record in Tibet and urging China to enter into dialogue with the representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The march began from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights located at Palais des Wilson and culminated at the headquarters of the United Nations, Place des Nations, Geneva.
After singing Tibetan National Anthem, a minute of Silence in honour and remembrance of our Martyrs was observed.
Speakers on the occasion were Ms. Karma Choekyi, President of the Tibetan Community of Switzerland & Liechtenstein, Representative Ms. Thinley Choekyi, Tibet Bureau- Geneva, Mr.Thupten Gyatso, Chitue, member of Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile from Europe, Ms. Künsang Gangschontsang member of Swiss-Tibetan friendship Association, Ms. Tsering Youdon Marsen, President of Swiss Tibetan Women Association, Mr. Tshösang Tender, Vice President of Europe Tibetan Youth Association.
Statement of the Central Tibetan Administration ( CTA ) and Tibetan Parliament in Exile ( TPIE) on the commemoration of the 33rd Anniversary of the conferment of the Nobel Peace Prize on His Holiness the Dalai Lama were read on the day.
After the vote of thanks by Mr.Tenzin Wangdue, vice President of the Tibetan Community of Switzerland& Liechtenstein, Dhentsik Monlam ( Prayer of Truth )  and Longlife Prayers for His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and all the Sentient beings were recited.
It was 33 years ago, on International Human Rights Day on 10th December 1989 that His Holiness the Dalai Lama was presented with the world`s most distinguished peace Award, the Nobel Peace Prize. To the Tibetan people in general and, in particular, to the people across the world who cherish democracy, freedom, peace, and compassion, it was a perfect moment to exalt the incomparable deeds of His Holiness the Dalai Lama with joy, devotion, and elation.
This is a day of outstanding significance and in places across the world, people are commemorating this festive occasion with the remembrance of His Holiness the Dalai Lama`s deeds. Tibetans in exile celebrated the 33rd anniversary of the iconic 1989 conferment of Nobel Peace Prize to His Holiness the Dalai Lama in full swing.
The Tibetans of Switzerland & Liechtenstein will celebrate the 33rd Anniversary of the Conferment of the Nobel Peace Prize on His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama on 17th December 2022  in Stadthalle, Bülach.
